Titus 1:1-4 Part 1

Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ for the faith of God's elect and the knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness--a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, and at his appointed season he brought his word to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior, To Titus, my true son in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.

for the faith of God's elect and the knowledge of the truth
1 Timothy 2:3-4 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

that leads to godliness
1 Timothy 2:2 ... for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life
Titus 3:7 ... so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

which God, who does not lie
Numbers 23:19 "God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?
Hebrews 6:18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged.

promised before the beginning of time
2 Timothy 1:9 ... who has saved us and called us to a holy life--not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, ...
