Revelation 12:3-4 Part 1 of 2

"And behold, I am coming quickly.
Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book."
Revelation 22:7  NASB

Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born.

Then another sign appeared in heaven
Revelation 15:1  I saw in heaven another great and marvelous sign: seven angels with the seven last plagues--last, because with them God's wrath is completed.

an enormous red dragon
Revelation 12:9  The great dragon was hurled down--that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to earth, and his angels with him.
Revelation 12:13  When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.
Revelation 12:15-17  Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent. But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring--those who keep God's commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.
Revelation 13:1  The dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.

Revelation 17:3  Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns.
Revelation 17:7  Then the angel said to me: "Why are you astonished? I will explain to you the mystery of the woman and of the beast she rides, which has the seven heads and ten horns."
Revelation 17:9-10  "This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits. They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for only a little while."

Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book."
Revelation 22:7  NASB

A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth.

Isaiah 26:17  As a pregnant woman about to give birth writhes and cries out in her pain, so were we in your presence, LORD.
Isaiah 66:7-9  "Before she goes into labor, she gives birth; before the pains come upon her, she delivers a son. Who has ever heard of such things? Who has ever seen things like this? Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment? Yet no sooner is Zion in labor than she gives birth to her children. Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery?" says the LORD. "Do I close up the womb when I bring to delivery?" says your God.

Revelation 11:19

"And behold, I am coming quickly.
Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book."
Revelation 22:7  NASB

Then God's temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.

Then God's temple in heaven was opened
Revelation 15:5  After this I looked, and I saw in heaven the temple--that is, the tabernacle of the covenant law--and it was opened.
Revelation 15:8  And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power, and no one could enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.

and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant
Exodus 25:10-11  "Have them make an ark of acacia wood--two and a half cubits long (45 inches or 1.1 m), a cubit and a half wide (27 inches or 68 cm), and a cubit and a half high. Overlay it with pure gold, both inside and out, and make a gold molding around it."
Exodus 25:21-22  "Place the cover on top of the ark and put in the ark the tablets of the covenant law that I will give you. There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the covenant law, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites."
2 Chronicles 5:7  The priests then brought the ark of the LORD's covenant to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple, the Most Holy Place, and put it beneath the wings of the cherubim.
Hebrews 9:3-5  Behind the second curtain was a room called the Most Holy Place, which had the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant. This ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron's staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant. Above the ark were the cherubim of the Glory, overshadowing the atonement cover. But we cannot discuss these things in detail now.

And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder
Revelation 4:5  From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. In front of the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God.

an earthquake and a severe hailstorm
Revelation 16:21  From the sky huge hailstones, each weighing about a hundred pounds, fell on people. And they cursed God, on account of the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible.

Revelation 11:16-18 Part 2 of 2

"And behold, I am coming quickly.
Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book."
Revelation 22:7  NASB

And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying: "We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign. The nations were angry, and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and our people who revere your name, both great and small--and for destroying those who destroy the earth."

The nations were angry
Psalm 2:1-3  Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the LORD and against his anointed, saying, "Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles."

The time has come for judging the dead
Revelation 20:11-12  Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.

and for rewarding your servants the prophets
Revelation 10:7  "But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets."
Daniel 9:6  "We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes and our ancestors, and to all the people of the land."
Amos 3:7  Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.
Zechariah 1:4-6  "Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the earlier prophets proclaimed: This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'Turn from your evil ways and your evil practices.' But they would not listen or pay attention to me, declares the LORD. Where are your ancestors now? And the prophets, do they live forever? But did not my words and my decrees, which I commanded my servants the prophets, overtake your ancestors? Then they repented and said, 'The LORD Almighty has done to us what our ways and practices deserve, just as he determined to do.' "

and your people who revere your name, both great and small
Revelation 19:5  Then a voice came from the throne, saying: "Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, both great and small."

Revelation 11:13-14

"And behold, I am coming quickly.
Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book."
Revelation 22:7  NASB

At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven. The second woe has passed; the third woe is coming soon.

At that very hour there was a severe earthquake
Revelation 6:12-13  I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.
Ezekiel 38:19  " 'In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.' "

the survivors were terrified and gave glory
Revelation 14:6-7  Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on earth--to every nation, tribe, language and people. He said in a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water."
Revelation 16:8-9  The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire. They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.

to the God of heaven
Revelation 16:10-11  The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in agony and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they refused to repent of what they had done.

The second woe is passed; the third woe is soon coming
Revelation 8:13  As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice: "Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!"

Revelation 11:11-12

"And behold, I am coming quickly.
Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book."
Revelation 22:7  NASB

But after the three and a half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on.

But after three and a half days
Revelation 11:9  For three and a half days some from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial.

the breath of life from God entered them
Genesis 2:7  Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
Ezekiel 37:5  " 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.' "
Ezekiel 37:9-10  Then he said to me, "Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live,' " So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet--a vast army.
Ezekiel 37:14  " 'I will put my Spirit into you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the LORD have spoken, and I have done it, declares the LORD.' "

"Come up here"
Revelation 4:1  After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this."

And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on
2 Kings 2:11  As they (Elijah and Elisha) were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.
Mark 16:19  After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.
Luke 24:51  While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.
Acts 1:9  After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17  For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

Revelation 11:9-10

"And behold, I am coming quickly.
Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book."
Revelation 22:7  NASB

For three and a half days some from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial. The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.

For three and a half days some from every people, tribe, language and nation
Revelation 13:7  It (the beast) was given power to wage war against God's holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.

will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial
Psalm 79:2-3  They have left the dead bodies of your servants as food for the birds of the sky, the flesh of your own people for the animals of the wild. They have poured out blood like water all around Jerusalem and there is no one to bury the dead.

The inhabitants of the earth
Revelation 3:10  "Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth."

will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts
Nehemiah 8:10  Nehemiah said, "Go and enjoy choice foods and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
Esther 9:20-22  Mordecai recorded these events, and he sent letters to all the Jews throughout the provinces of King Xerxes, near and far, to have them celebrate annually the fourteenth and fifteenth days of the month of Adar as the time when the Jews got relief from their enemies, and as the month when their sorrow was turned to joy and their mourning into a day of celebration. He wrote them to observe the days as days of feasting and joy and giving presents of food to one another and gifts to the poor.

Revelation 11:7-8

"And behold, I am coming quickly.
Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book."
Revelation 22:7  NASB

Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them. Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city--which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt--where also their Lord was crucified.

Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast
Revelation 13:1-4  The dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was filled with wonder and followed the beast. People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can wage war against it?"

that comes up from the Abyss
Revelation 9:11  They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon and in Greek is Apollyon (that is, Destroyer).
Revelation 17:8  "The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and yet will come up out of the Abyss and go to its destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because it once was, now is not, and yet will come."

will attack them, and overpower and kill them
Daniel 7:21   "As I watched, this horn was waging war against the holy people and defeating them."
Revelation 13:7  It [the beast] was given power to wage war against God's holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.

Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city
Revelation 16:19  The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath.

which is figuratively called Sodom
Isaiah 1:9  Unless the LORD Almighty had left us some survivors, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah.
Jeremiah 23:14  "And among the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen something horrible: They commit adultery and live a lie. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that not one of them turns from their wickedness. They are all like Sodom to me; the people of Jerusalem are like Gomorrah."

where also their Lord was crucified
Hebrews 13:12  And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood.

Revelation 11:5-6

"And behold, I am coming quickly.
Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book."
Revelation 22:7  NASB

If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die. They have power to shut up the heavens so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.

If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies
2 Samuel 22:9  "Smoke rose from his (God's) nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it."
2 Kings 1:10  Elijah answered the captain, "If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men!" Then fire fell from heaven and consumed the captain and his men.
Jeremiah 5:14  Therefore this is what the LORD God Almighty says: "Because the people have spoken these words, I will make my words in your mouth a fire and these people the wood it consumes."
Revelation 9:17-18  The horses and riders I saw in my vision looked like this: Their breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the horses resembled heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur. A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths.

This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die
Numbers 16:29  "If these men die a natural death and suffer the fate of all mankind, then the LORD has not sent me."
Numbers 16:35  And fire came out from the LORD and consumed the 250 men who were offering the incense.

They have the power to shut up the heavens
Luke 4:25  "I assure you that there were many widows in Israel in Elijah's time, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and there was a severe famine throughout the land."

so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying
Revelation 11:3  "And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days (three and a half years), clothed in sackcloth."

and they have the power to turn the waters into blood
Exodus 7:17  The LORD said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, 'Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt--over the streams and canals, over the ponds and all the reservoirs--and they will turn to blood.' Blood will be everywhere in Egypt, even in vessels of wood and stone."
Revelation 8:8-9  The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned to blood, and a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

Revelation 11:3-4

"And behold, I am coming quickly.
Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book."
Revelation 22:7  NASB

"And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth." They are "the two olive trees" and the two lampstands, and "they stand before the Lord of the earth."

Revelation 10:8-11

"And behold, I am coming quickly.
Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book."
Revelation 22:7  NASB

Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me once more: "Go, take the scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land." So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, "Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but 'in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.' " I took the little scroll from the angel's hand and ate it. It tasted sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour. Then I was told, "You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages and kings."

"Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but 'in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.' "

Then I looked, and I saw a hand stretched out to me. In it was a scroll, which he unrolled before me. On both sides of it were written words of lament and mourning and woe. And he said to me, "Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll; then go and speak to the people of Israel." So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat. Then he said to me, "Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it." So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth.

Daniel 3:4  Then the herald loudly proclaimed, "Nations and peoples of every language, this is what you are commanded to do: ..."
Revelation 13:7  It (the beast) was given power to wage war against God's holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.
