Mark 4:30-34 Part 1 of 2

Again he said, "What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade."
With many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand. He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything.

Again he said, "What shall we say the kingdom if God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade."
Matthew 13:33  He told them still another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough."  (see also Luke 13:20-21)
Matthew 13:44  "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field."
Matthew 13:45-46  "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it."
Matthew 13:47-48  "Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish. When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away."  (see Matthew 13:47-52)
Matthew 18:23  "Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants."
(see Matthew 18:23-35)
Matthew 20:1  "For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard."  (see Matthew 20:1-16)
Matthew 22:2  "The Kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son."
(see Matthew 22:1-14, also Luke 14:16-24)
Matthew 25:1  "At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom."  (see Matthew 25:1-13, also all Matthew 24)
