Mark 4:10-13

   When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. He told them, "The secret of the Kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that, 

    'they may be ever seeing but never perceiving,

        and ever hearing but never understanding;

    otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!' "

    Then Jesus said to them, "Don't you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable?"

Matthew 3:1-2  In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near."  (see Matthew 3:1-3)

Matthew 6:10  

    "your kingdom come,

    your will be done,

        on earth as it is in heaven."  (see Matthew 6:5-15)

Matthew 7:21  "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."

Matthew 25:34  "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.' "  (see Matthew 25:31-46)

Luke 17:20-21  Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is in your midst."  (see Luke 17:29-37)

Luke 21:31  "Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near."

Isaiah 6:9-10  He said, "Go and tell this people:

    'Be ever hearing but never understanding;

    be ever seeing, but never perceiving.'

    Make the heart of this people calloused;

        make their ears dull

        and close their eyes.

    Otherwise they might see with their eyes,

        hear with their ears,

        understand with their hearts,

    and turn and be healed."  (see all Isaiah 6)
