Jonah 3:7-8

This is the proclamation he issued in Nineveh: "By the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink. But let the people and animals be covered in sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence."

2 Chronicles 20:3  Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the LORD, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah.

Ezra 10:6  Then Ezra withdrew from before the house of God and went to the room of Jehohanan son of Eliashib. While he was there, he ate no food and drank no water, because he continued to mourn over the unfaithfulness of the exiles.

Nehemiah 1:4  When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.

Jeremiah 36:9  In the ninth month of the fifth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, a time of fasting before the LORD was proclaimed for all the people in Jerusalem and those who had come from the towns of Judah.

Let everyone call urgently on God 

Psalm 130:1-2  Out of the depths I cry to you, LORD; Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.

Jonah 1:6  The captain went to him and said, "How can you sleep? Get up and call on your God! Maybe he will take notice of us so that we will not perish."

Let them give up their evil ways and their violence 

Jeremiah 25:4-5  And though the LORD has sent all his servants the prophets to you again and again, you have not listened or paid any attention. They said, "Turn now, each of you from your evil ways and your evil practices, and you can stay in the land the LORD gave to you and your ancestors for ever and ever."

Jeremiah 7:3  " 'This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Reform your ways and your actions, and I will let you live in this place.' "

Job 16:15-17  "I have sewed sackcloth over my skin and buried my brow in the dust. My face is red from weeping, dark shadows ring my eyes; yet my hands have been free from violence and my prayer is pure."
