1 Thessalonians 2:5-7a Part 1 of 2

You know we never used flattery, nor did we put on a mask to cover up greed--God is our witness. We were not looking for praise from people, not from you or anyone else, even though as apostles of Christ we could have asserted our authority. Instead we were like young children among you.

Acts 20:33  "I have not coveted anyone's silver or gold or clothing."

1 Samuel 12:3  "Here I (Samuel) stand. Testify against me in the presence of the LORD and his anointed. Whose ox have I taken? Whose donkey have I taken? Who have I cheated? Whom have I oppressed? From whose hand have I accepted a bribe to make me shut my eyes? If I have done any of these things, I will make it right."

1 Corinthians 9:12  If others have this right of support from you, shouldn't we have it all the more? But we did not use this right. On the contrary, we put up with anything rather than hinder the gospel of Christ.

God is our witness 

1 Thessalonians 2:10  You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed.

2 Corinthians 1:23  I call God as my witness--and I stake my life on it--that it was in order to spare you that I did not return to Corinth.

Galatians 1:20  I assure you before God that what I am writing to you is no lie.

Philippians 1:8  God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.
