1 Thessalonians 1:1-2 Part 1 of 5

Paul, Silas and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace and peace to you. We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers.

Silas
Acts 15:22  Then the apostles and elders, with the whole church, decided to choose some of their own men and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas (called Barsabbas) and Silas, men who were leaders among the believers.
Acts 15:27  Therefore we are sending Judas and Silas to confirm by word of mouth what we are writing.
Acts 15:32  Judas and Silas, who themselves were prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the believers.
Acts 15:39-40  They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company. Barnabas took Mark and sailed for Cyprus, but Paul chose Silas and left, commended by the believers to the grace of the Lord.
Acts 16:19  When her [the fortune-telling slave] owners realized that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to face the authorities.
Acts 16:25  About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.
Acts 16:29  The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas.
2 Corinthians 1:18-19  But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not "Yes" and "No." For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us--by me and Silas and Timothy--was not "Yes" and "No," but in him it has always been "Yes."
1 Peter 5:12  With the help of Silas, whom I regard as a faithful brother, I have written to you briefly, encouraging you and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand fast in it.
