1 Thessalonians 2:14-15a

For you, brothers and sisters, became imitators of God's churches in Judea, which are in Christ Jesus: You suffered from your own people the same things those churches suffered from the Jews who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and also drove us out.

 

For you, brothers and sisters, became imitators

1 Thessalonians 1:6  You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. 

 

of God's churches in Judea, which are in Christ Jesus 

Galatians 1:22  I was personally unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. 

 

You suffered from your own people the same things those churches suffered from the Jews 

Acts 17:5-7  But other Jews were jealous; so they rounded up some bad characters from the marketplace, formed a mob and started a riot in the city. They rushed to Jason's house in search of Paul and Silas in order to bring them out to the crowd. But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some other believers before the city officials, shouting: "These men who have caused trouble all over the world have now come here, and Jason has welcomed them into his house. They are all defying Caesar's decrees, saying that there is another king, one called Jesus."   

2 Thessalonians 1:4  Therefore, among God's churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.

who killed the Lord Jesus 

Luke 24:20  "The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him; ..."

Acts 2:23  "This man was handed over to you by God's deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross."

and the prophets 

Matthew 5:11-12  "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

2 Chronicles 36:16  But they mocked God's messengers, despised his words and scoffed at his prophets until the wrath of the LORD was aroused against his people and there was no remedy.

and also drove us out 

Acts 17:10  As soon as it was night, the believers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. On arriving there, they went to the Jewish synagogue.

Acts 14:19  Then some Jews came from Antioch and Iconium and won the crowd over. They stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, thinking he was dead.
