Romans 16:17-18 Part 3 of 4

I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.

For such people are not serving our Lord Christ
Romans 14:17-18  For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval.
Joshua 24:15  "But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."
2 Chronicles 12:8  "They will, however, become subject to him (Shishak king of Egypt), so that they may learn the difference between serving me (the LORD) and serving the kings of other lands."
Romans 12:11  Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
Ephesians 6:7-8  Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free.
Colossians 3:23-24  Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

but their own appetites
Philippians 3:19  Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things.
