Romans 12:9-11 Part 1 of 2

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.

Love must be sincere
2 Corinthians 6:4, 6  Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; ... in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; ...
1 Timothy 1:5  The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

Hate what is evil; cling to what is good
Psalm 97:10   Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
Amos 5:15  Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the LORD God Almighty will have mercy on the remnant of Joseph.
1 Thessalonians 5:20-22  Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.
