Romans 7:9-11 Part 1 of 2

Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died. I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death. For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death.

Leviticus 18:5  " 'Keep my decrees and laws, for the person who obeys them will live by them. I am the LORD.' "

Luke 10:25-28  On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus, "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"  "What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?" He answered, " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; (Deuteronomy 6:5) and 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' "(Leviticus 19:18)  "You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live." 

Romans 10:5  Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law: "The person who does these things will live by them." (Leviticus 18:5)

Galatians 3:12  The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, "The person who does these things will live by them." (Leviticus 18:5) 

Deuteronomy 4:1  Now, Israel, hear the decrees and laws I am about to teach you. Follow these so that you may live and may go in and take possession of the land the LORD, the God of your ancestors, is giving you.

Deuteronomy 6:24  "The LORD commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the LORD our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today."

Nehemiah 9:29  "You warned them in order to turn them back to your law, but they became arrogant and disobeyed your commands. They sinned against your ordinances, of which you said, 'The person who obeys them will live by them.' Stubbornly they turned their backs on you, became stiff-necked and refused to listen."

Proverbs 19:16  Whoever keeps commandments keeps their life, but whoever shows contempt for their ways will die.

Ezekiel 20:11  " 'I gave them my decrees and made known to them my laws, by which the person who obeys them will live.' "
