Romans 7:14-17

We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.

1 Kings 21:24-25  (There was never anyone like Ahab, who sold himself to do evil in the eyes of the LORD, urged on by Jezebel his wife. He behaved in the vilest manner by going after idols, like the Amorites the LORD drove out before Israel.)

2 Kings 17:17  They sacrificed their sons and daughters in the fire. They practiced divination and sought omens and sold themselves to do evil in the eyes of the LORD, arousing his anger.

as a slave to sin 

Romans 6:16  Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey--whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?

For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do 

Romans 7:19  For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing.

Galatians 5:17  For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.

And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good 

Romans 7:12  So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good.

As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me 

Romans 7:20  Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
