John 18:37-40 Part 2 of 2

"You are a king, then!" said Pilate. Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king. In fact the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."  "What is truth?" retorted Pilate. With this he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said, "I find no basis for a charge against him. But it is your custom for me to release to you one prisoner at the time of the Passover. Do you want me to release 'the king of the Jews'?" They shouted back, "No, not him! Give us Barabbas!" Now Barabbas had taken part in an uprising.

Luke 23:40-41  But the criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong."
Matthew 27:23  "Why? What crime has he committed?" asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, "Crucify him!"

They shouted back, "No, not him! Give us Barabbas!"

Mark 15:11  But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have Pilate release Barabbas instead.
