The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright. But their swords will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken.
The wicked draw the sword
Psalm 22:20 Deliver me from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dogs.
and bend the bow
Psalm 11:2 For look, the wicked bend their bows; they set their arrows against the strings to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart.
to bring down the poor and needy
Psalm 35:10 My whole being will exclaim, "Who is like you, LORD? You rescue the poor from those to strong for them, the poor and needy from those who rob them."
But their swords will pierce their own hearts
Psalm 9:16 The LORD is known by his acts of justice; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands.
and their bows will be broken
1 Samuel 2:4 "The bows of the warriors are broken, but those who stumbled are armed with strength."
Psalm 46:9 He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire.
