Psalm 32:8-9

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go 
Psalm 25:8-9  Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways. He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.
Psalm 34:11  Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

I will counsel you with my loving eye on you 
Psalm 33:18-19  But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.

Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle 
Job 39:9-12  "Will the wild ox consent to serve you? Will it stay by your manger at night? Can you hold it to the furrow with a harness? Will it till the valleys behind you? Will you rely on it for its great strength? Will you leave your heavy work to it? Can you trust it to haul in your grain and bring it to your threshing floor?"
James 3:3  When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal.
