JOY Isaiah 22:12-13 Part 1 of 2

The LORD, the LORD Almighty, called you on that day to weep and to wail, to tear out your hair and put on sackcloth. But see, there is joy and revelry, slaughtering of cattle and killing of sheep, eating of meat and drinking of wine! "Let us eat and drink," you say, "for tomorrow we die!"

The LORD, the LORD Almighty, called you on that day
Isaiah 2:12  The LORD Almighty has a day in store for all the proud and lofty, for all that is exalted (and they will be humbled), ...

to weep and wail
Joel 1:8-9  Mourn like a virgin in sackcloth grieving for the betrothed of her youth. Grain offerings and drink offerings are cut off from the house of the LORD. The priests are in mourning, those who minister before the LORD.
Joel 2:17  Let the priests, who minister before the LORD, weep between the portico and the altar. Let them say, "Spare your people, LORD. Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, "Where is their God?"

tear out your hair
Micah 1:16  Shave your head in mourning for the children in whom you delight; make yourself as bald as the vulture, for they will go from you into exile.

and put on sackcloth
Isaiah 3:24  Instead of fragrance there will be a stench; instead of a sash, a rope; instead of well-dressed hair, baldness; instead of fine clothing, sackcloth; instead of beauty, branding.

But see, there is joy and revelry
Isaiah 21:5  They set the tables, they spread the rugs, they eat, they drink! Get up, you officers, oil the shields!
