LIGHT 1 John 2:9-11

Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in darkness. Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble. But whoever hates his brother is in darkness and walks around in the darkness; he does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded him.

Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother
Leviticus 19:17 "'Do not hate your brother in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in his guilt.'"
1 John 3:10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.
1 John 3:15-16 Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him. This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
1 John 4:20-21 If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.

is still in darkness
1 John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.

Whoever loves his brother lives in the light
1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.

But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness
1 John 1:6 If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.

he does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded him
John 11:9-10 Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours of daylight? A man who walks by day will not stumble, for he sees by this world's light. It is when he walks by night that he stumbles, for he has no light."
John 12:35 Then Jesus said to them, "You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. The man who walks in the dark does not know where he is going."
