Jesus left there and went to his hometown, accompanied by his
disciples. When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue,
and many who heard him were amazed.
"Where
did this man get these things?" they asked. "What's this wisdom that
has been given him? What are these remarkable miracles he is performing? Isn't this the carpenter? Isn't this Mary's son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and
Simon? Aren't his sisters here with us?" And they took offense at him.
Jesus
said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own town,
among his relatives and in his own home." He could not do any miracles
there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. He was
amazed at their lack of faith.

Matthew 7:28-29
When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at
his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as
their teachers of the law. (see Matthew 5-7)
Matthew 13:54
Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their
synagogue, and they were amazed. "Where did this man get this wisdom and
these miraculous powers?" they asked.
Luke 4:22 All spoke well of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his lips. "Isn't this Joseph's son?" they asked.
Matthew 22:33 When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at his teaching. (see Matthew 22:23-46)
Mark 11:18
The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began
looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him, because the whole
crowd was amazed at his teaching. (see Mark 11:15-18)
John 7:45-47 Finally the temple guards went back to the chief priests and the Pharisees, who asked them, "Why didn't you bring him in?"
"No one ever spoke the way this man does," the guards replied.
"You mean he has deceived you also?" the Pharisees retorted. (see all John 7)
