Ruth 4:11-12

Then the elders and all the people at the gate said, "We are witnesses. May the LORD make the woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah who together built up the family of Israel. May you have standing in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem. Through the offspring the LORD gives you by this young woman, may your family be like that of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah."

 

Then the elders and all the people at the gate 

Genesis 23:10  Ephron the Hittite was sitting among his people and he replied to Abraham in the hearing of all the Hittites who had come to the gate of his city.

We are witnesses 

Ruth 4:9-10  Then Boaz announced to the elders and all the people, "Today you are witnesses that I have bought from Naomi all the property of Elimelek, Kilion and Mahlon. I have also acquired Ruth the Moabite, Mahlon's widow, as my wife, in order to maintain the name of the dead with his property, so that his name will not disappear among his family or from his hometown. Today you are witnesses!" 

May the LORD make the woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah 

Genesis 29:16  Now Laban had two daughters; the name of the older was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.

Genesis 29:28  ... He finished the week with Leah, and then Laban gave him his daughter Rachel to be his wife.

Genesis 35:23-26  The sons of Leah: Reuben the firstborn of Jacob, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar and Zebulun. The sons of Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin. The sons of Rachel's servant Bilhah: Dan and Naphtali. The sons of Leah's servant Zilpah: Gad and Asher. These were the sons of Jacob, who were born to him in Paddan Aram.

May you have standing in Ephrathah 

Genesis 35:16  Then they moved on from Bethel. While they were still some distance from Ephrath, Rachel began to give birth and had great difficulty.

and be famous in Bethlehem 

Ruth 1:19  So the two women went on until they came to Bethlehem. When they arrived in Bethlehem, the whole town was stirred because of them, and the women exclaimed, "Can this be Naomi?"

May your family be like that of Perez 

Genesis 38:29  But when he drew back his hand, his brother came out, and she said, "So this is how you have broken out!" And he was named Perez (which means "breaking out")

 

whom Tamar bore to Judah 

Genesis 38:25  As she was being brought out, she sent a message to her father-in-law. "I am pregnant by the man who owns these," she said. And she added, "See if you recognize whose seal and cord and staff these are."
