To this you
were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example,
that you should follow in his steps. "He committed no sin, and no deceit
was found in his mouth." When they hurled their insults at him, he did
not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he
entrusted himself to him who judges justly.
leaving you an example
Matthew 11:29-30 "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Matthew 16:24-27 Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done."
He committed no sin
2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Hebrews 4:14-15 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet he did not sin.
1 John 3:4-5 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact sin is lawlessness. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin.
and no deceit was found in his mouth
Isaiah 53:9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked, with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.
