1 Peter 1:6-7

In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 

In all this you greatly rejoice 
1 Peter 4:13  But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

though now for a little while 
1 Peter 5:10  And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials 
James 1:2-3  Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
1 Peter 4:12  Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.

These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith 
James 5:3-4  Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.

of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire 
Job 23:10  "But he knows the way I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold."
Psalm 66:10  For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver.
Isaiah 48:10  "See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction."

may result in praise, glory and honor 
2 Corinthians 4:17  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

when Jesus Christ is revealed 
1 Peter 1:13  Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.
1 Corinthians 1:7  Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.
