You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law, or by believing what you heard?
You foolish Galatians!
Luke 24:25-27 He (Jesus) said to them, "How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?" And beginning with Moses and all the prophets he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.
Who has bewitched you?
Galatians 5:7 You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth?
Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified
1 Corinthians 1:22-24 Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
Did you receive the Spirit
Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
by the works of the law
Galatians 3:5 So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by you believing what you heard?
Galatians 3:10 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law." (Deuteronomy 27:26)
Galatians 2:16 ... (We Jews) know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.
or by believing what you heard
Romans 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
Hebrews 4:2 For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.
