REPENT Ezekiel 18:30-32 Part 2 of 3

"Therefore, you Israelites, I will judge each of you according to your own ways, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, people of Israel? For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent and live!" 

Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed 
Judges 6:10  "I said to you, 'I am the LORD your God; do not worship the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you live.' But you have not listened to me."

and get a new heart and a new spirit 
Psalm 51:10  Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 
Ezekiel 11:19-20  "I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God."
Ezekiel 36:26  " 'I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.' " 

Why will you die, people of Israel? 
Jeremiah 27:13  "Why will you and your people die by the sword, famine and plague with which the LORD has threatened any nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?" 

For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone 
Ezekiel 18:23  "Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign LORD. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?"
