PEACE Isaiah 53:5 Part 2 of 2

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

the punishment 
Isaiah 50:6  I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting.

that brought us peace was on him 
Isaiah 9:6  For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Romans 5:1  Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, ...

and by his wounds 
Isaiah 1:6  From the sole of your foot to the top of your head there is no soundness--only wounds and welts and open sores, not cleansed or bandaged or soothed with olive oil. 
Matthew 27:26  Then he released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.
John 19:1  Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged. 

we are healed 
Deuteronomy 32:39  "See now that I myself am he! There is no God besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand."
2 Chronicles 7:14  "... if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
1 Peter 2:24-25  He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; "by his wounds you have been healed." For "you were like sheep going astray," (Isaiah 53:6) but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
