In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God.
but the Spirit himself
Romans 8:15-16 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry "Abba, Father." The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.
intercedes for us
Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people.
And he who searches our hearts
Revelation 2:23 "I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds."
because the Spirit intercedes for God's people
Romans 8:34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died--more that that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
