SALVATION Hebrews 2:1-3 Part 2 of 2

We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.

and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment
Hebrews 10:28  Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation?
Hebrews 10:29  How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?
Hebrews 12:25  See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven?

This salvation which was first announced by the Lord
Hebrews 1:2  ... but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things and through whom also he made the universe.

was confirmed to us by those who heard him
Luke 1:1-2  Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word.
