"Fellow
children of Abraham and you God-fearing Gentiles, it is to us that this
message of salvation has been sent. The people of Jerusalem and their
rulers did not recognize Jesus, yet in condemning him they fulfilled the
words of the prophets that are read every Sabbath. Though they found no
proper ground for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him
executed. When they had carried out all that was written about him, they
took him down from the cross and laid him in a tomb. But God raised him
from the dead, and for many days he was seen by those who had traveled
with him from Galilee to Jerusalem. They are now witnesses to our
people."
But God raised him from the dead
Matthew 16:21 From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.
Matthew 28:5-7 The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."
Acts 2:24 "But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him."
