Mark 9:33-37 Part 1 of 3

    They came to Capernaum. When he was in the house, he asked them, "What were you arguing about on the road?" But they kept quiet because on the way they had argued about who was the greatest.
    Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, "Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all."
    He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me."

They came to Capernaum.
Matthew 4:13-16
Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali--to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah:
    "Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali,
        the way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan,
        Galilee of the Gentiles--
    the people living in darkness
        have seen a great light;
    on those living in the land of the shadow of death
        a light has dawned."  (Isaiah 9:1-2)
Mark 1:21-22
    They went to Capernaum, and when the Sabbath came, Jesus went into the synagogue and began to preach. The people were amazed at his teaching, because he taught them as one who had authority, not as the teachers of the law.
Luke 4:31-32
    Then he went down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and on the Sabbath he taught the people. They were amazed at his teaching, because his words had authority.
