MERCY 1 Peter 2:9-10

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that  you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

But you are a chosen people
Deuteronomy 10:15  Yet the LORD set his affection on your ancestors and loved them, and he chose you, their descendants above all the nations--as it is today.
1 Samuel 12:22  "For the sake of his great name the LORD will not reject his people, because the LORD was pleased to make you his own."

a royal priesthood
1 Peter 2:5  ... you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

a  holy nation
Exodus 19:6  " '... you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites."
Deuteronomy 7:6  For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.

God's special possession
Titus 2:14  ... who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light
Acts 26:17-18  "I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me."

Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God
Hosea 1:9-10  Then the LORD said, "Call him Lo-Ammi (which means "not my people"), for you are not my people, and I am not your God. Yet the Israelites will be like the sand on the seashore, which cannot be measured or counted. In the place where it was said of them, 'You are not my people,' they will be called 'children of the living God.' "
Hosea 2:23  "I will plant her for myself in the land; I will show my love to the one I called 'Not my loved one.' I will say to those I called 'Not my people,'  'You are my people'; and they will say, 'You are my God.' "
Romans 9:25-26  As he says in Hosea: "I will call them 'my people' who are not my people; I will call her 'my loved one' who is not my loved one," and, "In the very place where it was said to them, 'You are not my people,' there they will be called 'children of the living God.' "
