He brought out his people with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of
joy; he gave them the lands of the nations, and they fell heir to what
others had toiled for--that they might keep his precepts and observe his
laws. Praise the LORD.
that they might keep his precepts and observe his laws
Deuteronomy 4:40 Keep his decrees and commands which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the LORD your God gives you for all times.
Deuteronomy 6:21-24 ... tell him, "We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand. Before our eyes the LORD sent signs and wonders--great and terrible--on Egypt and Pharaoh and his whole household. But he brought us out from there to bring us in and give us the land he promised on oath to our ancestors. The LORD commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the LORD our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today."
Psalm 78:5-7 He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.
