How long will you who are simple love your simple ways?
Proverbs 6:32 But a man who commits adultery has no sense; whoever does so destroys himself.
Proverbs 7:7 I saw among the simple, I noticed among the young men, a youth who had no sense.
Proverbs 8:5 You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, set your hearts on it.
Proverbs 9:4-6 "Let all who are simple come to my house!" To those who have no sense she (Wisdom) says, "Come, eat my food and drink the wine I have mixed. Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight."
Proverbs 9:16-18 "Let all who are simple come to my house!" To those who have no sense she (Folly) says, "Stolen water is sweet; food eaten in secret is delicious!" But little do they know that the dead are there, that her guests are deep in the realm of the dead.
How long will mockers delight in mockery
Proverbs 22:10 Drive out the mocker, and out goes strife; quarrels and insults are ended.
Proverbs 29:8 Mockers stir up a city, but the wise turn away anger.
Proverbs 15:12 Mockers resent correction, so they avoid the wise.
and fools hate knowledge
Psalm 50:16-17 But to the wicked person, God says: "What right have you to recite my laws or take my covenant on your lips? You hate my instruction and cast my words behind you."
NOTES:
The Hebrew word rendered simple in Proverbs generally denotes one without moral direction and inclined to evil.
