What
if some were unfaithful? Will their unfaithfulness nullify God's
faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar.
As it is written: "So that you may be proved right when you speak and
prevail when you judge."
Let God be true
John 3:32-33 He (Jesus) testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. Whoever has accepted it has certified that God is truthful.
Psalm 145:17-18 The LORD is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does. The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
and every human being a liar
Psalm 116:10-11 I trusted in the LORD when I said, "I am greatly afflicted"; in my alarm I said, "Everyone is a liar."
Jeremiah 9:3-6 "They make ready their tongue like a bow, to shoot lies; it is not by truth that they triumph in the land. They go from one sin to another; they do not acknowledge me," declares the LORD. "Beware of your friends; do not trust anyone in your clan. For every one of them is a deceiver, and every friend a slanderer. Friend deceives friend, and no one speaks the truth. They have taught their tongues to lie; they weary themselves with sinning. You live in the midst of deception; in their deceit they refuse to acknowledge me," declares the LORD.
so that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge
Psalm 51:4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.
