Philippians 1:27-30 Part 1 of 2

Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved--and that by God. For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him, since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.

conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ
Ephesians 4:1  As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.

Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit
1 Corinthians 16:13-14  Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.

striving together as one for the faith of the gospel
Jude 3-4  Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God's holy people. For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ
Matthew 5:11-12  "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."
Acts 5:41   The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.

not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him
Acts 14:21-22  They preached the gospel in that city (Derbe) and won a large number of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch, strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. "We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God," they said.
