Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth. (Also Psalm 57:11 and Psalm 108:5)

They return at evening, snarling like dogs, and prowl about the city. See what they spew from their mouths--the words from their lips are sharp as swords, and they think, "Who can hear us?" But you laugh at them, LORD; you scoff at all those nations.
Psalm 113:4-9 The LORD is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens. Who is like the LORD our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth? He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes, with the princes of his people. He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the LORD.

GLORY Psalm 8:3-5 Part 2 of 2
When I consider
your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which
you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower
than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.
what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
1 Chronicles 29:14-16 "But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. We are foreigners and strangers in your sight, as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope. LORD our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you."
You have made them a little lower than the angels
Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
and crowned them with glory and honor
Psalm 21:5 Through the victories you gave, his glory is great; you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty.
Psalm 103:2-5 Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits--who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

GLORY 1 Samuel 4:21
She named the boy "Ichabod" [no glory], saying, "The Glory has departed from Israel"--because of the capture of the ark of God and the deaths of her father-in-law and her husband.
She named the boy Ichabod
Genesis 35:18 As she breathed her last--for she was dying--she named her son Ben-Oni [son of my trouble]. But his father named him Benjamin [son of my right hand].
The Glory has departed from Israel
Exodus 24:15-16 When Moses went up on the mountain, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD settled on Mount Sinai. For six days the cloud covered the mountain, and on the seventh day the LORD called to Moses from within the cloud.
Psalm 106:20 They exchanged their glorious God for an image of a bull, which eats grass.
Jeremiah 2:11 "Has a nation ever changed its gods? (Yet they are not gods at all.) But my people have exchanged their glorious God for worthless idols."
Ezekiel 1:28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.
Ezekiel 9:3-4 Now the glory of the God of Israel went up from above the cherubim, where it had been, and moved to the threshold of the temple. Then the LORD called to the man clothed in linen who had the writing kit at his side and said to him, "Go throughout the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done in it."
Ezekiel 10:18-19 Then the glory of the LORD departed from over the threshold of the temple and stopped above the cherubim. While I watched, the cherubim spread their wings and rose from the ground, and as they went, the wheels went with them. They stopped at the entrance of the east gate of the LORD's house, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them.

GLORY Deuteronomy 5:23-24
When you heard the voice out of the darkness, while the mountain was ablaze with fire, all the leaders of your tribes and your elders came to me. And you said, "The LORD our God has shown us his glory and his majesty, and we have heard his voice from the fire. Today we have seen that a person can live even if God speaks with them."
all the leaders of your tribes and your elders came to me
Exodus 3:16-17 "Go, assemble the elders of Israel and say to them, 'The LORD, the God of your fathers--the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob--appeared to me and said: I have watched over you and have seen what has been done to you in Egypt. And I have promised to bring you up out of your misery in Egypt into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites--a land flowing with milk and honey.' "
The LORD our God has shown us
Deuteronomy 4:34 Has any god ever tried to take for himself one nation out of another nation, by testings, by signs and wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm or by great and awesome deeds, like all the things the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes?
Deuteronomy 8:5 Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.
Deuteronomy 11:2 Remember today that your children were not the ones who saw and experienced the discipline of the LORD your God: his majesty, his mighty hand, his outstretched arm; ...
Isaiah 53:4 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him and afflicted.
his glory and his majesty
Deuteronomy 3:24 "Sovereign LORD, you have begun to show your servant your greatness and your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do the deeds and mighty works you do?"
Today we have seen that a person can live even if God speaks with them
Exodus 19:19 As the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and the voice of God answered him.

GLORY Numbers 14:20-23 Part 5 of 5
The LORD replied,
"I have forgiven them, as you asked. Nevertheless, as surely as I live
and as surely as the glory of the LORD fills the whole earth, not one of
those who saw my glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the
wilderness but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times--not one of them

not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors
Numbers 32:11-12 " 'Because they have not followed me wholeheartedly, not one of those who were twenty years old or more when they came out of Egypt will see the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob--not one except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun, for they followed the LORD wholeheartedly.' "
Deuteronomy 1:34-36 When the LORD heard what you said, he was angry and solemnly swore: "No one from this evil generation shall see the good land I swore to give to your ancestors, except Caleb son of Jephunneh. He will see it, and I will give him and his descendants the land he set his feet on because he followed the LORD wholeheartedly."
Psalm 95:11 "So I declared on oath in my anger, 'They shall never enter my rest.' "
Psalm 106:26-27 So he swore to them with uplifted hand that he would make them fall in the wilderness, make their descendants fall among the nations and scatter them throughout the lands.
No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it
Numbers 14:11 The LORD said to Moses, "How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the signs I have performed among them?"
Hebrews 3:18-19 And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed? So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.

GLORY Numbers 14:20-23 Part 2 of 5
The LORD replied,
"I have forgiven them, as you asked. Nevertheless, as surely as I live
and as surely as the glory of the LORD fills the whole earth, not one of
those who saw my glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the
wilderness but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times--not one of them
will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors. No one
who has treated me with contempt will ever see it."
as surely as I live
Numbers 14:28-29 "So tell them, 'As surely as I live, declares the LORD, I will do to you the very thing I heard you say: In this wilderness your bodies will fall--every one of you twenty years old and more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me.' "
Deuteronomy 32:40-41 "I lift up my hand to heaven and solemnly swear: As surely as I live forever, when I sharpen my flashing sword and my hand grasps it in judgment, I will take vengeance on my adversaries and repay those who hate me."
Judges 8:19 Gideon replied, "Those were my brothers, the sons of my own mother. As surely as the LORD lives, if you had spared their lives, I would not kill you."
Ruth 3:13 "Stay here for the night, and in the morning if he wants to do his duty as your guardian-redeemer, good; let him redeem you. But if he is not willing, as surely as the LORD lives I will do it. Lie here until morning."
1 Samuel 14:39 "As surely as the LORD lives, even if the guilt lies with my son Jonathan, he must die." But not one of them said a word.
1 Samuel 19:6 Saul listened to Jonathan and took this oath: "As surely as the LORD lives, David will not be put to death."

GLORY Numbers 14:20-23 Part 1 of 5
The LORD replied, "I have forgiven them, as you asked. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it."
I have forgiven them as you asked
Exodus 34:6-7 And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation."
Psalm 99:8 LORD our God, you answered them; you were to Israel a forgiving God, though you punished their misdeeds.
Psalm 106:23 So he said he would destroy them--had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him to keep his wrath from destroying them.
Micah 7:18-20 Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea. You will be faithful to Jacob, and show love to Abraham, as you pledged on oath to our ancestors in days long ago.
