JOY Joel 1:16-18

Has not the food been cut off before our very eyes--joy and gladness from the house of our God? The seeds are shriveled beneath the clods. The storehouses are in ruins, the granaries have been broken down, for the grain has dried up. How the cattle moan! The herds mill about because they have no pasture; even the flocks of sheep are suffering.

Has not the food been cur off before our very eyes
Isaiah 3:7  But in that day he will cry out, "I have no food or clothing in my house; do not make me the leader of the people."

joy and gladness
Psalm 51:8  Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice.

from the house of our God
Deuteronomy 12:7  There, in the presence of the LORD your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the LORD your God has blessed you.

The seeds are shriveled beneath the clods
Isaiah 17:10-11  You have forgotten God your Savior; you have not remembered the Rock, your fortress. Therefore, though you set out the finest plants and plant imported vines, though on the day you set them out, you make them grow, and on the morning when you plant them, you bring them to bud, yet the harvest will be as nothing in the day of disease and incurable pain.

How the cattle moan! The herds mill about because they have no pasture
Genesis 47:4  They also said to him, "We have come to live here for a while, because the famine is severe in Canaan and your servants' flocks have no pasture. So now, please let your servants settle in Goshen."

even the flocks of sheep are suffering
Jeremiah 9:10  I will weep and wail for the mountains and take up a lament concerning the wilderness grasslands. They are desolate and untraveled, and the lowing of cattle is not heard. The birds have all fled and the animals are gone.
