1 Thessalonians 1:8-10

The Lord's message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia--your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead--Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.

The Lord's message
2 Thessalonians 3:1 Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored just as it was with you.

your faith in God has become known everywhere
Romans 1:8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.

They tell how you turned to God
Acts 14:15 "Men, why are you doing this? We too are only men, human like you. We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea and everything in them."

from idols
1 Corinthians 12:2 You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols.
Galatians 4:8 Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods.

to serve the living and true God
Matthew 16:16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

to wait for his Son from heaven
1 Corinthians 1:7 Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.

whom he raised from the dead
Acts 2:24 "But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him."

Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath
Romans 1:8-9 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.
