JOY Isaiah 51:3 Part 1 of 2

The LORD will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing. 

The LORD will surely comfort Zion 
Isaiah 40:1  Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.
Psalm 51:18  May it please you to prosper Zion, to build up the walls of Jerusalem.

and will look with compassion on all her ruins 
Isaiah 44:24-26  "This is what the LORD says--your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the LORD, the Maker of all things, who stretches out the heavens, who spreads out the earth by myself, who foils the signs of false prophets and makes fools of diviners, who overthrows the learning of the wise and turns it into nonsense, who carries out the words of his servants and fulfills the predictions of his messengers, who says of Jerusalem, 'It shall be inhabited,' of the towns of Judah, 'They shall be rebuilt,' and of their ruins, 'I will restore them,' ..."
Isaiah 52:9  Burst into songs of joy together, you ruins of Jerusalem, for the LORD has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.
Isaiah 61:4  They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.

he will make her deserts like Eden 
Genesis 2:8  Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.

Isaiah 5:6  "I will make it a wasteland, neither pruned nor cultivated, and briers and thorns will grow there. I will command the clouds not to rain on it."

JOY Isaiah 49:13

Shout for joy, you heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song, you mountains! For the LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on all his afflicted ones.

Shout for joy 
Isaiah 48:20  Leave Babylon, flee from the Babylonians! Announce this with shouts of joy and proclaim it. Send it out to the ends of the earth; say, "The LORD has redeemed his servant Jacob."

rejoice, you earth 
Psalm 96:11  Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound and all that is in it.

burst into song, you mountains 
Psalm 65:12-13  The grasslands of the wilderness overflow; the hills are clothed with gladness. The meadows are covered with flocks and the valleys are mantled with grain; they shout for joy and sing.
Psalm 98:4  Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; ...

For the LORD comforts his people 
Psalm 71:21  You will increase my honor and comfort me once more.
Isaiah 40:1  Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4  Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

and will have compassion 
Isaiah 14:1  The LORD will have compassion on Jacob; once again he will choose Israel and will settle them in their own land. Foreigners will join them and unite with the descendants of Jacob.

on his afflicted ones 
Psalm 9:12  For he who avenges blood remembers; he does not ignore the cries of the afflicted.

JOY Isaiah 48:20 Part 2 of 2

Leave Babylon, flee from the Babylonians! Announce this with shouts of joy and proclaim it. Send it out to the ends of the earth; say, "The LORD has redeemed his servant Jacob."

Announce this with shouts of joy and proclaim it 
Isaiah 12:6  "Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you."
Isaiah 49:13  Shout for joy, you heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song you mountains! For the LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.
Isaiah 51:11  Those the LORD has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away. 

Send it out to the ends of the earth 
Genesis 49:10  "The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he to whom it belongs shall come and the obedience of the nations shall be his." 
Deuteronomy 30:4  Even if you have been banished to the most distant land under the heavens, from there the LORD your God will gather you and bring you back. 

The LORD has redeemed his servant Jacob 
Exodus 6:6  "Therefore, say to the Israelites: 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment."
Isaiah 33:24  No one living in Zion will say, "I am ill", and the sins of those who dwell there will be forgiven.
Isaiah 52:9  Burst into songs of joy together, you ruins of Jerusalem, for the LORD has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.
Isaiah 63:9  In all their distress he too was distressed, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.
Micah 4:10  Writhe in agony, Daughter Zion, like a woman in labor, for now you must leave the city to camp in the open field. You will go to Babylon; there you will be rescued. There the LORD will redeem you out of the hand of your enemies.
