HEBREWS

 

Hebrews 2:1-4

    We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who had heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. (see all Hebrews 1-2)

Hebrews 3:7-11  

    So, as the Holy Spirit says:

    "Today, if you hear his voice,

        do not harden your hearts

    as you did in the rebellion,

        during the time of testing in the wilderness,

    where your ancestors tested and tried me,

        though for forty years they saw what I did.

    That is why I was angry with that generation;

        I said, 'Their hearts are always going astray,

        and they have not known my ways.'

    So I declared on oath in my anger,

        'They shall never enter my rest.' "  (see Hebrews 3:7-19)

Hebrews 6:4-6  

    It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.  (see Hebrews 6:1-12)

Hebrews 9:7-9  

But only the high priest entered the inner room, and that only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance. The Holy Spirit was showing by this that the way into the Most Holy Place had not yet been disclosed as long as the first tabernacle was still functioning. This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper.  (see Hebrews 9:1-10)
