Psalm 28:1

To you, LORD, I call; you are my Rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you remain silent, I will be like those who go down to the pit.

To you, LORD, I call; you are my Rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me
Deuteronomy 1:42-45  But the LORD said to me, "Tell them, 'Do not go up to fight, because I will not be with you. You will be defeated by your enemies.' " So I told you, but you would not listen. You rebelled against the LORD's command and in your arrogance you marched up into the hill country. The Amorites who lived in those hills came out against you; they chased you like a swarm of bees and beat you down from Seir all the way to Hormah. You came back and wept before the LORD, but he paid no attention to your weeping and turned a deaf ear to you.

For if you remain silent
Esther 4:12-14  When Esther's words were reported to Mordecai, he sent back this answer: "Do not think that because you are in the king's house you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?"

I will be like those who go down to the pit
Job 33:14-18  "For God does speak--now one way, now another--though no one perceives it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they slumber in their beds, he may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride, to preserve them from the pit, their lives from perishing by the sword."

Psalm 27:14

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

Wait for the LORD
Psalm 33:20  We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.
Psalm 130:5-6  I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. I wait for the LORD more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.
Isaiah 8:17  I will wait for the LORD, who is hiding his face from the descendants of Jacob. I will put my trust in him.
Isaiah 30:18  Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!
Habakkuk 2:3  For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.
Zephaniah 3:8  "Therefore wait for me," declares the LORD, "for the day I will stand up to testify. I have decided to assemble the nations, to gather the kingdoms and to pour out my wrath on them--all my fierce anger. The whole world will be consumed by the fire of my jealous anger."
Acts 1:4-5  On one occasion, while he (Jesus) was eating with them (his disciples), he gave them this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."

be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD
Deuteronomy 1:21  "See, the LORD your God has given you the land. Go up and take possession of it as the LORD, the God of your ancestors, told you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."
Ephesians 6:10-13  Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Psalm 27:13

I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

I will see the goodness of the LORD
Exodus 33:19  And the LORD said, "I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."
2 Chronicles 6:41  "Now arise, LORD God, and come to your resting place, you and the ark of your might. May your priests, LORD God, be clothed with salvation, may your faithful people rejoice in your goodness."
Psalm 23:6  Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Psalm 31:19  How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you.
Psalm 145:7  They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.

in the land of the living
Job 28:12-13  But where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell? No mortal comprehends its worth; it cannot be found in the land of the living.
Deuteronomy 29:29  The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.
Psalm 52:5  Surely God will bring you (Doeg the Edomite) down to everlasting ruin: He will snatch you up and pluck you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living.
Psalm 116:8-9  For you, LORD, have delivered me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before the LORD in the land of the living.
Psalm 142:5  I cry to you, LORD; I say, "You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living."

Psalm 27:11-12 Part 2 of 2

Teach me your way, LORD; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors. Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, spouting malicious accusations.

for false witnesses rise up against me
Deuteronomy 19:16-17  If a malicious witness takes the stand to accuse someone of a crime, the two people involved in the dispute must stand in the presence of the LORD before the priests and the judges who are in office at the time.
Matthew 26:59-61  The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death. But they did not find any, though many false witnesses came forward. Finally two came forward and declared, "This fellow said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.' "
Acts 6:13-14  They produced false witnesses, who testified, "This fellow (Stephen) never stops speaking against this holy place and against the law. For we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs Moses handed down to us."
1 Corinthians 15:12-15  But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised.

Exodus 33:13  "If you are pleased with me (Moses), teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people."

lead me in a straight path
Ezra 8:21  There, by the Ahava Canal, I proclaimed a fast, so that we might humble ourselves before our God and and ask him for a safe journey for us and our children, with all our possessions.
Psalm 5:8  Lead me, LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies--make your way straight before me.

because of my oppressors
Psalm 72:4  May he defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy; may he crush the oppressor.
Psalm 78:42-43  They did not remember his power--the day he redeemed them from the oppressor, the day he displayed his signs in Egypt, his wonders in the region of Zoan.
Psalm 106:10  He saved them from the hand of the foe; from the hand of the enemy he redeemed them.
Jeremiah 21:12  " 'This is what the LORD says to you, house of David: Administer justice every morning; rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed, or my wrath will break out and burn like fire because of the evil you have done--burn with no one to quench it.' "
